In addition to my activity as a musician-flutist, I give workshops on Practical Body Awareness for Musicians. For companies, I offer workshops on Self-care (staying fit at your desk) and Breathing (stress regulation).
These workshops originated from my search for insights and solutions for overuse complaints and hyperventilation, about 30 years ago.
I pursued multi-year training programs to become a Body Mapping teacher for Musicians and a Level 3 Franklin Method Movement Educator. Since then, I have been combining these and numerous other insights.
In 2002 and 2004, I experienced a collapsed lung and underwent surgery.
The trigger was a classic breathing exercise. This prompted me to delve into various aspects of breathing: functional anatomy, physiology, its impact on the psyche, analysis of breathing techniques for wind instrumentalists, heart coherence, and more. This brought everything together: movement, posture, breathing, and psyche.
These themes are developed for various target groups and at different levels.
During a Breathing Workshop for wind instrumentalists, we examine the anatomical reality behind breathing techniques in relation to music performance.
During a Breathing Workshop for companies, the emphasis is placed on Stress Reduction and Self-regulation.
Engaging, original, and surprising exercises and information from various disciplines are covered.
The effects are directly measurable, healing, and transformative, for both the group and the individual.
THESE WORKSHOPS ARE A GIFT FOR YOURSELF, YOUR COLLEAGUES, YOUR STUDENTS, YOUR STAFF!
