WITH YOUR BREATH ON A JOURNEY

A perfect workshop for a day of ensemble playing. For music academy level singers and wind players.

Starting by observing the breathing at rest, and playing/singing the “longest note”.

In a playful manner, the anatomy of breathing is introduced: lungs, ribs, diaphragm, abdominal wall, pelvic floor, skeleton. We’ll provide more feedback to the brain by waking our kinesthesia and proprioception.

Using hand gestures, we demonstrate how all elements of the breathing structure work together.

Exploring what posture actually means, why it’s important, and how it affects your breathing, we will optimize posture through the ‘upright reflex’ and sense of balance. A moment for a good laugh.

Finally, combining breath with coordination, participants can feel how breathing, movement, and perception are linked.

After re-observing the breathing at rest, most children notice a deeper sense of inner peace and embodiment.

Ending with ‘the longest note,’ and there are surprises here too.

This workshop sparks imagination and immediately enhances perception and movement quality: you’ll notice this in the evening concert or at the next lesson. YES!
